Institutional bitcoin notes

How institutions hold, account for and report bitcoin, drawn from public filings and disclosures. Every claim is cited to a named primary source with the date it covers, and the limits of what a filing can show are stated rather than glossed over.

An institution does not hold bitcoin the way an individual does. The asset sits behind a custody agreement, an accounting standard and a regulatory framework, and each of those changes what the holder actually controls and what the holder must disclose. The notes filed here work through that structure from the primary documents — the Commission's orders, the fund prospectuses, the company filings and the accounting standards themselves — rather than from secondary reporting.

Each article states the filing, issuer or disclosure it is drawn from and the date that source covers, and each one separates what the document reports from what a reader might expect it to imply. Nothing here is a forecast, and no note is a recommendation.

The notes

Every article filed under this hub

Three notes, each resting on a named primary source. The source and the period it covers are shown with each one so the evidence basis is visible before the article is opened.

The pages this hub builds on

The reference pages behind the notes

Two pages already cover the structure of the spot ETF wrapper and the corporate treasury model in full. The notes above link to them rather than restating them, so this hub is an index into the material rather than a second copy of it.
